The possibility to store files on line like music, images or documents is already a fact as we dispose from services like Flickr, Picassa, Gmail, Google Docs etc…
But what if we could upload the whole computer on line and have access to it from any where on the world?
That´s the idea of Google with Gdrive, which is going to offer a massive Storage to upload all our files on line, similar services to this are Microsoft´s Skydrive that disposes 25Gb storage but with a maximum of 50MB / File other services like ” Live Mesh ” offer more services but less space.
Google offers for free 5Gb on Gmail and 1GB on Picasa Web Albums images, if you are interested in purchasing extra storage you ´ll find the information here.
You can already download GMail Drive 1.0.13 which creates a virtual file system on your computer to storage files into your GMail account.
Available to download on Fileforum.
When you launch the application you will find going on the data of
your computer a GMail Drive symbol as if you connected an extern storage, double click on it and you will be asked to sign in on your gmail account.
As it is a local application it works the same way as moving files from one folder to another, pretty simple. Available are 7Gb space storage.
Test it!
